Two Year Health Guarantee
Riverwind Malamutes
All puppies must be examined by a veterinarian within 72 hours from the day of purchase/shipment to qualify for the 2 year Health guarantee.
Riverwind Malamutes will guarantee the AKC Alaskan Malamute puppy for two years from the date of birth against death caused by a genetic/congenital defect, or any genetic/congenital defect that would be life threatening to the dog. The dog must be euthanized or returned to Riverwind Malamutes at sellers descretion. If the pup should die of this condition an autopsy is required with results sent to Riverwind Malamutes from the examining veterinarian. The diagnosis must take place during the first two years for this claim to be valid. If all documents from the treating Veterinarian are valid we will replace the pup with a pup of equal value and the same gender as available. Riverwind Malamutes does not pay for Veternary bills or Travel expenses associated with this condition. All paper work must be returned if the diagnosis proves valid. All shots and worming must be kept current for .
We recommend puppies be taken to obedience and other training classes for best behavior results of the puppy. We are not responsible for the behavior of the puppy.
The puppy must be spayed/neutered by the time the puppy is 6 months of age. If the we do not receive proof of spay/neuter the health gurantee will be void. The puppy will not be done with vaccinations, de-worming, heart worm prevention, and flea/tick protection ect.
Riverwind Malamutes offer a conditional (replacement) guarantee that your puppy is clear of hip dysphasia for 2 years from his/her whelping date. We will not pay for the veterinary bills or travel expenses. Xrays of hips must be reviewed and approved by Riverwind Malamutes before being submitted to the OFA. If we find that your claim is valid a pup of same sex will be offered to replace that pup. Shipping of both puppies to and from Riverwind Alaskan Malamutes is at the buyer’s expense.
If the buyer can no longer care for the puppy at any time and cannot find a suitable home for it, the owner agrees to return the puppy to
the Riverwind Alaskan Malamutes. But if the owner does find a suitable home for the puppy/dog they will give Riverwind Alaskan malamutes the name, phone number and address of where the dog is at all times.
Riverwind Alaskan Malamutes will not accept a claim for a preventable
illness. Failure to vaccinate the Alaskan malamute in accordance with veterinary recommendations for standard practice Riverwind Alaskan Malamutes voids this contract and reserves the right to refuse replacement of any dog returned for temperment or hip problems caused by owner abuse or neglect.
Any puppy that is abused and/or neglected in the following manner (but not limited to these descriptions) may quickly develop hip problems: kept grossly overweight, or has been kept unchecked for worm infestation, or required to perform extreme physical activities (such as agility jumps or weight pulling) during their ‘growth period’. A dog not socialized, beaten and/or tortured will develop ‘temperament’ problems. These problems which are not caused by a hereditary defect are NOT the responsibility of Riverwind Malamutes.
We recommend feeding the puppy Large breed puppy food for the first two years of the puppies life. You should then switch to an adult large breed dog food.
